Accessibility statement for hever.org
This statement covers the hever.org website. The website is run by The Link editorial team.
We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. For example, you should be able to:
- change colours, contrast levels and fonts using your browser or device settings
- zoom in up to 400% without the text spilling off the screen
- navigate the website using just a keyboard
- listen to the website using a screen reader
Every page of the website and every issue of The Link in our archive has been tagged for screen readers, with descriptions of the photos and images.
AbilityNet (opens in new window) has advice on making your device easier to use.
How accessible this website is
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.2 at level AA. The website falls short of the standard in the following respects.
Content that is not fully accessible
- The Link back issues. A few pages in some issues were saved as a single picture. Their text has been written into the picture’s description instead.
- Hever Rose and Horticultural Show programme. The current programme is not accessible. It will be replaced with an accessible version.
- Other websites. Some pages link to websites run by other organisations. We are not responsible for how accessible those websites are.
What to do if you cannot use part of this website
If you need information on this website in a different format, such as large print or plain text, or you find a problem not listed on this page, please email us at thelink@hever.org.

How we tested this website
On 31 October 2026 we checked every page of the website, and the documents linked from it, against WCAG 2.2 level AA. The checks covered page structure, headings, image descriptions, link text, colour contrast and whether documents were tagged for screen readers. We addressed any issues that came to light in the checks and as a result the site is now compliant with the standard other than as stated above.
The website has not yet been tested by users.
